Petamburan initially named Koninklijke Paketvaart Maatschappj (KPM) Hospital "Djati Baroe", established on December 12, 1915 through the Nederlander. To be able to nationalization, KPM was absorbed through the Government from the Republic of Indonesia on December 3, 1957 and handed to PN Pelni to handle it, since that time the title KPM transformed to RS Pelni.
A brand new chapter of history Rumah Sakit Pelni started using the issuance of permits separation from the Minister for Condition Businesses No. S-743/MBU/2007 dated October 31, 2007, and also the signing from the Articles of PT. Rumah Sakit Pelni then adopted the inauguration from the Board of Company directors and Commissioners in compliance with Decree No. 118/HKO.01/XI/2007 on November 9, 2007, the status from the hospital transformed from the sideline right into a subsidiary of PT Pelni and Yayasan Kesehatan Pensiunan Pelni. Thus RS Pelni "Petamburan" transformed its title to "PT. Rumah Sakit Pelni".
